Nine topic pages receive positive feedback from education professionals

18th December 2019

“I have used it to look at ADHD, as we have a child with real issues at the moment, and I have just lost myself down it for half an hour. Easy to use, informative and with plenty of links to help both teachers and direct families too (sic).” – Pastoral worker in Blackburn with Darwen

“Lots of good links to resources for both young people, parents and professionals. Think it’s especially useful for us to signpost parents to when we are first raising concerns.” – Assistant Headteacher of a secondary school in Blackpool

“The links to national guidance are particularly useful and extremely helpful for improving my own work/life balance as staff wellbeing is also a priority. The resources look fantastic and it really is a one stop place to access all things related to improving wellbeing and providing much needed support for our pupils and their parents. Links to local training providers will also be very helpful in getting our staff appropriately trained.” – Staff member from a primary school in Burnley

“Having had a meeting about a child with anxiety this week I clicked on the tab for that and found that (if I had lots of time) the links and resources seem very useful.  I think it is looks (sic) a great 'one stop' shop to look at as a starting point for schools looking for help with children with mental health difficulties.” – Headteacher of a primary school in West Lancashire

“The website is easy to follow and use and the links to resources is fantastic. Most of them appear to be free but even the ones where there are (sic) a cost it really is minimal… They were then sent to me in a PDF so I can save and the team can now print and use them. There are lots of things on there that are downloadable, including MP3s that you could upload onto your phones to use with children/families.” – Children’s Centre in Cumbria

Through these face to face sessions and also from the numerous emails received, including feedback from clinicians, the team have made improvements to the structure of the content on the HYM website, as well as adding new resources that have been requested to be featured. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in this piece of work, especially the Primary Mental Health Workers across Lancashire and South Cumbria who have been instrumental in pulling together all of the resources, and to those who have sent across feedback to date; your input is invaluable. It’s not too late to provide your feedback on the pages, as we are always looking to improve further. In particular, we’d love to know:

  • Do you think this resource will be useful? Who will it be useful to?
  • Were the sections easy to navigate?
  • Did you find what you were looking for?
  • Which sections do you like best?
  • Is there anything missing?
  • Which future topics would you like to see included on the Healthy Young Minds website?

Please email your feedback, or further resources you’d like to see included in any topics, to laura.harvie3@nhs.net
